The New York Giants completed a busy week by coming to terms with middle linebacker Chase Blackburn on Friday.

At least four teams have called the Cleveland Browns about the fourth overall pick in the upcoming draft, sources told the Cleveland Plain Dealer.

One of the teams believed to be in the mix is the St. Louis Rams. That would mean dropping to No. 6. Just say no. Why? The Browns can say goodbye to an elite offensive playmaker in running back Trent Richardson if they trade down. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers would immediately grab Richardson at No. 5.

Another potential trade partner is the Philadelphia Eagles.

London Fletcher has agreed to a two-year deal to re-sign with the Washington Redskins.

Trent Richardson doesn’t know if he’ll be drafted fourth overall by the Cleveland Browns or later in the top 10. But the Alabama running back knows where he’ll be Saturday night — at a high school senior prom.

Richardson is accompanying 17-year-old Courtney Alvis, who is battling leukemia.

Alvis was diagnosed last year with the condition, which meant no driving, attending class or going to her junior prom. After a year of chemotherapy, Alvis was determined to attend her senior prom but she didn’t have a date.

In a move that should surprise no one, running back Ray Rice won’t report Monday when the Ravens’ voluntary offseason workouts begin, a source told the NFL Network.

This would have been bigger news if Rice had decided to show up Monday. Rice has yet to sign his franchise tag and isn’t expected to do so anytime soon.

He recently expressed a desire to attend the workouts, but this is strictly a smart business decision. By putting the tag on Rice, the Ravens are only on the hook for this season.

The San Diego Chargers have signed free agent tackle Mario Henderson to a one-year contract.
